Reputation: 467 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Rep Power: 9 | RIP Western Digital Scorpio 160GB WD1600BEVT I got it with my Dell Inspiron 1525 that I bought in July. Just yesterday, I was surfing the net and the lappy began to get real laggy as if there was a write delay or something. Then a blue screen and whenever I tried booting the laptop it would give an error with a "No bootable devices" message. The hard drive doesn't even seem to be able to turn it. Whenever I feed power to it, it makes a "beep, beep, beep" (kinda like the sound of a HDD spinning up, but it is unable to). The HDD is not recognized in the lappy's BIOS. I tried running Disk Commander and a Linux LiveCD but they both do not detect the HDD. I tried plugging it to my PC and it didn't allow my PC to boot into Windows. I tried plugging it to a HDD enclosure, but Windows does not see anything under USB Mass Storage Device. I finally figured that it was a hardware failure. It sucks really bad because I was not able to recover my data. I called Dell, troubleshooted to no avail and, finally, they're going to be sending me a new HDD in a few days. sigh... ![]()
