Default My DVB-T experience with Compro U2800F

I had the privilege to test DVB-T transmission which are still in testing phase using the Compro U2800F hybrid tuner which I am supposed to review. I did a comprehensive review, which I posted on my blog here

Kar Hoe's Blog - Compro VideoMate U2800F Hybrid Digital/Analog Stick Review and DVB-T in Malaysia

But now, I would like to share some screenshots.

First of all, DVB-T is being broadcasted at the resolution of 720 x 576 and right now there are some dedicated digital channels such as RTMi, Muzik Aktif and Arena.

The best part is, you will see no ads on these channels. RTMi have been showing shows like Terminator 3 while Arena (a sports channel) have been showing F1 repeat races - without any commentary.

It is unfortunate that there isn't any HD transmission now unlike during the Olympic month.

Enough of talking, pictures do the rest of the talking

Now compare with Analog TV

It's just too bad we don't have nice show on RTM, but there are some nice movies being replayed on RTMi, such as Terminator 3 without ads !

The days with grainy images are over

More pictures, features and full review here

How do you get DVB-T coverage? Looks pretty good.

Apparently RTM is test broadcasting DVB-T in Klang Valley area and I am living in Klang Valley, and on a quite high area, so the indoor antenna worked fine.

But even the outdoor antenna (analog) works to receive DVB-T signals !

You can read more in the review, do me a favour by dropping a comment after that

Yeap, it will be a great addition to those who already have a HTPC connected to their HDTV, no need to invest in DVB-T STB which is much more expensive.

658Mhz and 674Mhz, both are the same, so just use either one.

Testing area is Klang Valley

I managed to record it using the program recorder, i don't think any compression is done as 3 mins = 60mb mpeg2

Well, it's 25fps at 720 x 576

There's 14 channels on 658Mhz
