Default building a new rig

building a new rig for my sistar and hubby here what i have in mind

C2Q Q8200
gigabyte p45 ds3
2gb ddr2 from her old system
hdd from old system
ati 4850
corsair vx550 psu
CM CM690 casing

will be running on 22inch lcd, usage mix of anything from gaming like COD, COH, fallout3 to watching movie

im not up to date with pc stuff nowdays so more input will be good

Not one of all the things you said really use quad cores though, maybe you could get a duo and a 4870 instead.

Yeah, get a high end dual core like E8500 and save the money for something else.

That's pretty good already. You can continue to build that. It'll run good. But if you have another few more RAM sticks, it'll help too! (futureproofing?)

Yeah, get a cheaper dual-core CPU.. and use the money saved to buy 2GB of RAM. Vista will run really nice with 4GB.

using onboard vga, waiting for cheaper hd4850 should be a fine pc for surfing and light task
