since i run my dual core at 3.6ghz, i was thinking of getting a Q6600 to run at 3.6ghz. 4 cores better than 2.

on the other hand, i could actually hunt for an E8xxx to go beyond 4ghz.

ahhh choice in life, in the end i just go buy some thing else.

I'm running my E8400 at 'just' 3.8GHz. Stock voltage. No significant power consumption increment.

that's nice. i like it that it's on stock voltage.

i had to pum +0.25 to my E7200 to run 3.6ghz stable. of course, my processor is about 1/2 the price of yours.

That's because you get what you pay for. Mine can go about 4.2GHz with voltage increase.
