Utility for Samsung HDD

Hi,

Anyone here knows the availability of utilities for low-level formatting or to be exact, write zeros onto Samsung HDD from Samsung?

I can't seem to find any utility in the download centre.

For Samsung/Toshiba I use Ultimate Boot CD...
You are able to low level format any hdd.

Thanks for the recommendation bro.. but this is like thrid party right??? is it reliable??? Can I be sure that for data that I want totally deleted is confirmed deleted, i.e. hard disk all wrote zeros???

Would it be better if we use original manufacturer's utilities??? Thanks.

if what you want is to securely delete file, can use DBAN.

If you want to be sure about wiping out data, you cannot just format it. You need to write over your data with 0s and 1s several times over.

That is why with the utility, I would be able to write zeros to the entire drive rendering it as good as new.... would need to re-create the partition agains but ... I need the utility provided by the producers... so samsung do not have such utility then cannot buy samsung but buy hitachi instead already....right?

Err.. Why do you need to do that? I mean, if you just want to reuse the drive, all you need to do is reformat it or repartition it. You do not need to low-level format it or overwrite it multiple times just to reuse the drive.

No, you do not need to restrict yourself to official utilities provided by the manufacturer. There are many third-party utilities out there that can do the same thing.

If you looking for Samsung ulility, it is called "ES_Tool", it is available from Samsung website.
