Default Sidewinder Force feedback Wheel for W2k or XP

Hi!!! im from Portugal and im writing, because i have bought almost 4 years ago a Sidewinder Force feedback wheel. He have a connection to our sound board on the joystick port, now the problem is that i cannot find any drivers to make it work on W2k, i tried several times to go to the microsoft webpage looking for driver. It seems that Microsoft make the products and dont give to the users drivers for more recent O.S.

How can i put the wheel working in W2k?

For me...microsoft never more.

Please help...

I don't have a Sidewinder Force Feeback Wheel. I'm using The Precision Wheel USB, and it works flawlessly on both W2K and WXP.

Welcome to ARP Forums, Pc_Maniax!!!

1st of all, i don't think MS has any problems with your joystick. i mean i have the MS Sidewinder......the very 1st Sidewinder. 2 button type. it works flawlessly on WinXP. note that it's an even older joystick than yours.

have you tried other joysticks on the port to see if it works? could you also check if your joystick port is installed?

Yeah... I think it might be a joystick port problem. Check your sound card driver. It should come with a joystick port driver.

well, came conclusion from me too... I think it has something to do with the joyport... I have an old sidewinder FFB joystick here and it works flawlessly on WinXP...

My Sidewinder 3D Pro works fine on my WinXP too. I don't know about Win2k, but WinXP already provides all the drivers for all Sidewinder products. That's the benefit of having a Microsoft hardware

I agree with lung, which is why it's odd that it doesn't work on your system. Like Adrian and peaz have suggested, it is most likely joystick port problem.
