wat is the use of using it as router???????...........it onli got one lan port wat............

router & switch different la TB..

router can be used to dial internet coinnection instead of the computer
so if you reboot you com .. your connection stays..

use it with a switch .. nice combination

nola..

most router got build-in port .. most have 4 ports..

some is ADSL broadband router :
they can dial their own using the internal modem ..

some is wireless router or normal router..
they have an extra port to hook up a ADSL modem .. & usually 4 ports for com

ehh .. router usually have additional ports !..

it is a modem with ROUTER capabilities, with that 1 port you connect to a SWITCH to expand its ports.

a normal router network will have a MODEM > ROUTER > PCs
using the DSL305E you network will be MODEM(router inside) > SWITCH > PCs

it will look just like a router-used network.

KNN....aftet set to router...my mom's laptop cant connect anymore so i need to reset it to all default agin

any idea how to solve this?

cannot connect?..
have to configure it

try running the network wizard..

if you can set it to a be a router, then the connection is done thru the router already. it will connect on demand usually, and probably also a setting there for you to keep the connection alive.

i know. as the 305E only have one port, so my mom usually pull out the cable and plug into her laptop but after set to router...the laptop cant browse
