Default Anyone still running WXP SP1?

Ever since I started installing SP2 back when I was testing the P4 775 processors, with so quite a number of problems due to tighter 'securities' in IE, I have to install back SP1 in order to be able to test properly. Till now, I have not installed SP2 on any systems I've installed. I'm still wondering whether I should be upgrading for all the security patches, and with a lot of features that I won't even bother using...

It's probably worth the upgrades for the added security...

Hmm... what kind of problem did you encounter? If you are going to test the hardware I think you should test it on SP2. Most people are using SP2 so I guess it's better to test with what most people is using.

Yeah, I know they have been fixed, I'm not really benchmarking my system, so I'm not bothered about those things. I'm just worried that some things don't work after I patch it. It's very very difficult for me to revert back to SP1, so I really want to make sure everything works fine... This is probably the only SP that I've been so paranoid about. I upgraded most SPs in the past without worrying.

Maybe I should test it on the test system, see whether I like it or not.

sysmark and winstone released their respective SP2 patches a while back (mostly workaround for IE security issues, liek pop-up that unintentionally halted the test as the app was waiting for respone from user. ..etc)
these patches work fine. but must warn u that the winstone's instruction isn't that clear (not sure they have re-written it or not)
as for the rest, as long as it doesn't involve IE (like gaming), then it should work just fine. I've been benchmarking using XPSP2 for 7 months. no problems provided u apply the patches.

I'm very worried about IE since I love IE. There's no way for me to revert the settings for ActiveX.
