Sound Blaster static noise :P

heh .. i was using back one of my super old sound blaster 16 .. isa ..

in windows XP i has static / popping noise..

solution : change the resources (irg/dma/io) to the most less settings

...

The resources..

By Default : Basic configuration 0000
IRQ : 05
DMA : 01 & 05
I/O Range : 0220-022F, 0330-0331, 0388-038B

Changed to : Basic configuration 0007
IRQ : 05
DMA : 01
I/O Range : 0220-022F

now no popping/static sounds

where to go to change that?

Erm ...
- Right Click My Computer
- Click Properties
- Select Hardware tab
- Click Device Manager button
- Goto Sounds, video and game controllers
- Right click the sound card name (ie.: Creative Sounds Blaster 16 Plug and Play)
- Click Properties
- Goto Resources tab
