Hey guys, Id thought Id make this kind of as a reminder/keep safe warning. I recieve many e-mails like this every few weeks, and it gets annoying. View the letter: in screenshot form. http://img513.imageshack.us/img513/5622/clipboard010ol.jpg 1. First off, the address said from [email protected] good enough, but a simple mouse over and hover text warning showed, the mail was really [email protected] Fradulent e-mail attempt, mistake 1. 2. "This is a reminder to log in to PayPal as soon as possible." They want you to log in, good so far. They provided this login in link https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run Still good, but yet mouseovers will be there doom. Mousing over, the link, reveals they used html to make the link say one thing, but direct to another. Ba link: yekaroo.com/.ws/ Yekaroo.com.....interesting paypal login. Wouldnt you say. The site directs to a bogus login prompt, mistake 2. 3. They tell you your account may be disabled if you dont act quickly, temptation to go to the link fast and enter your details. But wait, sighting the paypal privacy policy, they say this. This e-mail violated both, Mistakes 3, and 4. 4. "In accordance with PayPal's User Agreement, your account access will remain limited until the issue has been resolved." No where in the user agreement does such a statement exist, if you know the agreement, Mistake #5 5. This one should be very clear to everyone, including tech illiterate people. Since when did https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_login-run turn into?: Fradulent Link, do not click. http://yekaroo.com/.ws/ssl/paypal.com/us/webscr.htm?cmd=_login-run 6.. Now this one is very funny to me, There biggest mistake of all, Which is common with scammers like these idiotic kind. I DONT HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT! Alright, well take this information to heart, send it to some friends/family with paypal accounts. And be safe when it comes to fradulent e-mails.
I don't read them either. But I'm pretty sure many people still do. That's why they never cease trying to trick people into giving up their logins.
