Man I felt like crying when I ran the tests... All 'coz I remembered Max_87's post...

I was thinking, "RM4K for this??? Someone pleeeaaasse help me optimize my system!!!"

Then I came here and saw the rest of the results and didn't feel so bad...

All Max's fault... Using 3DMark03 to bench an X1800XL...

Anyway here's my results, my rig's sorta similar to werty316's...

A64 3000+ @ 2.5GHz
Asus A8N-E Rev2
GeCube X1800XL [very very very slightly OC'ed]
Corsair ValueRAM 2x512MB

There is one weird anomaly. Using the same settings and drivers and OC I can't reproduce this score. I get a little over 4K. NOt really sure how I got that high of a score.
Resolution, maybe? I noticed an anomaly when I use my 15" LCD as the primary monitor; 3D06 will default to 1024x768 giving me a score of about 3500 thereabouts.

@ Gar - that score is pretty low considering your hardware

Hmm...resolution could be the cause of the low score...

Papercut: I was thinking the same thing...

Chai: So what should I do about the resolution?

Change my desktop resolution? Higher or lower? Currently it's at 1024x768...

But the settings say 1280x1024...which is supposed to be the default reso for 3D06.
Driver issue, maybe?

Changed my desktop resolution to 1280x1024 and ran it again, this time my results actually dropped from 2753 to 2740!

Could my system be unstable?

Sounds like a driver issue to me too.

Ah you guys are right. The test results show 1024*768. It must have ran at 1024*768 on my old 15" CRT before I got my LCD. Here are best results so far with real default settings.

A64 3000+ @ 2.4GHz
Asus A8N-E Rev2
XFX 7800GTX @ STOCK
Patriot XBL 2x512MB

Maybe it's tested according to the default resolution of the monitor?
