Default Stationary animated gifs?

I know this is a known issue with Internet Explorer. But did anyone ever found out the fix to this problem (except reinstalling Windows/format, etc.)?

Now all animated gifs when displayed using Internet Explorer (Maxthon too since it's using IE core) are stationary on this laptop, not moving. Maybe that's why I changed to Firefox.

Dunno if this helps (long time no use IE), go to tools>internet options>advance>multimedia see if the 'play animations on web pages' is checked'?

Scripts will disable it, and because it's not a major function and doesn’t have any other purpose, it's ignored by most protection programs. I found out the hard way!
