Reputation: 285 ![]() ![]() ![]() Rep Power: 9 | Is there a way to force Nero to use above 80MB RAM? I can barely open anything (Notepad causes this to! ) if I burn a DVD because my buffer drops way too much. I have 1GB of RAM, and only 100MB goes to it! Dumb program won't let me put in 300MB!

Even my system has trouble with just 4x DVD burning, multitasking is virutally impossible. |

It's pretty useful. I have it set to 80MB. But if you are getting loads of buffer under-runs, you should check the configuration of your IDE controller. Make sure they are configured to use DMA, instead of PIO mode.

What speed were you trying to write your DVDs at? Maybe you should try a lower speed? BTW, does your DVD writer have its own IDE channel? Or is it sharing it with another device?
