Well, it could.

Something's definitely preventing your preset Paging File from being used. Thus, Windows XP has to recreate the paging file every time it boots.

anyway, i got frustrated and reformat my computer again. This time i dump acer's oem winxp home and went with winxp pro sp2 from my university. Apparently, as i only found out yesterday even though i got the email last october

from one of my classmate that we can download free microsoft software from e-academy inc as my uni is part of the msdn academic alliance and we all get a bunch of free microsoft software.

yeah, do you know whether the membership is permament? dont know if i should download all the software there or not cause if its not permanent then i wouldnt be able to access them later when i leave the uni. Dont know if window vista will be there when its released
