How to make bootable USb pendrive ?

Hey guys ,

Been trying to get my pendrive work bootable on my ic7-g... but fail. ANyone have any idea how to make it works ? been trying to throw my floopy drive away !

You are in luck as I just made one myself... LOL, like just a few minutes ago.

Download this HP guy here... install and just follow the instruction. It's nothing special, it just writes some boot files into the USB drive's boot sector.

yes i tried that before end up stuck at (GRub ....... )after the verifying dmi , it just wont boot up the usb pendrive.... =.=

is your boot sequence in the bios correct ?

Enable any usb, legacy usb or boot from other bootable devices in your BIOS. Well, I just tried the one I created. It works. It's a Kingston DataTraveler.

If all fails, I'll have to conclude that your USB drive doesn't support bootable. But that's very rare for new ones I think.

Have you tried booting up from the USB ports at the back of your PC? Or try on another PC?

yeah my boot sequence set according to what on abit webside.Feel strange, cause in bios my mobo wasnt able to detect what kind of pendrive i have.

anyone knows wat GRub means ? cause after verifying dmi pool it just stuck at "GRUB"

i think is mobo problem .... other ppl seems working ( from webside) but not me !

yeah i use the rear usb ports to boot it.

Get the usb drive and boot it from another pc with a different chipset. I just tried on a few other mobos, some can, some cannot.

So, I guess not all can support usb key bootable.

im sure this mobo able to get bootable usb pendrive to work.... a few ppl able to do it from wat i check from abit forum. Just no idea why cant i !

humm...maybe is the pendrive ?

humm.. no other pc for me to test... maybe later try it out at my friend place.
