Speaker settings automatically changing!

Ok, I have the Audigy 2 ZS with the I/O kit, and a 5.1 speaker setup. Thing is, for some reason (seemingly randomly) the speaker settings get set to desktop stereo speakers. (2 speakers). This is annoying, for obvious reasons.
I have checked RAM, file system, OS, and I have a program called Speaker Guard that gets the mysterious update as well. (It says I have stereo speakers) when the program is supposed to keep it at whatever I want.

Any ideas?

Yea that sometimes happens...

Can't really expect much from creative drivers....
