Reputation: 2958   Rep Power: 65 |  Hmm.. Are they much faster than the current Windows XP search function?  Well, they should be... It's really quite crappy - so slow even after indexing..  So, I guess what I'm really asking is, how much faster are they?

Reputation: 583 Rep Power: 9 | And to think I'm using Spotlight on a daily basis... *Spotlight, Mac OS X's implementation of desktop searching. I use it as file searcher, phrase searching, application launcher.. you name it. Oh whenever someone pastes me important info over IM, I don't copy it out somewhere else, I leave it in the IM log, cos Spotlight can search that out when I need it later anyway  Reduce clutter and unneccesary .txt files just to hold a tiny bit of info Result search time <= 1sec |
