Windows Desktop Search VS Google Desktop Search, which one do you think is better?

Let's share your experience, good or bad and why you like either one or both.

I installed google desktop search once but I got rid of it after it started to like go through my stuff...

Was too lazy to wait for it to finish going through all of my stuff...

They call it indexing... have to create index to speed up the search.

To replace the default windows search feature. And with this new search tool, you can search through your email and all the files in your pc, fast!

So this is just an enhanced version of the windows indexing service what was in win2k?

Nope, don't think so. You can call it a stripped down version of the Win2k one since it only indexes more than 200 types of files, not all. This is AFAIK.

But it's not too bad really... especially if you have like thousands of emails (like yours truly who suck at managing emails), it's a very good tool.

There are some add-ins for the Windows Desktop Search too.

Although I don't really manage my email, I don't have problem searching emails, and I hardly search files, except for the users I support...

I've tested MS desktop search, yahoo desktop search and google search. personally, i preferred M$ one. it was faster. Yahoo's not too bad too... but didn't like the interface. Google's one is not too bad but I didn;t like that it uses the web browser to access the search results...
