All right all you 1337 h4x0rs out there come tell us what your favourite text editor is besides notepad that is

Mine is crimson editor in windows and old school vi in a unix system

I never really liked notepad much, its limitations where just too great. Before I found Crimson Editor and Notepad++, I would just use MS-Dos Edit(a.k.a QBasic).

Yup, notepad has a lot of limitation. But since I'm not a programmer anymore, I don't find the need to use anything more than notepad.

Really depends on what I'm doing.....for html I use Dreamweaver, for programming I use VB, for Java I use Eclipse, for writing bullshit like this I use anything that's in front of me

I trust you realize they're different and on many modern systems, vi is aliased to vim

I for one can't stand using vi for longer than 10 minutes. But vim.. yes, even on my sweet little powerbook with all the fancy text editors, I still use vim almost every other day.

TextMate's my other favourite.
