Default windows thinks its out of memory?

Windows seems to think its out of memory (gives me warnings, stops sounds, ect.) when I hit a commit charge of about 1000M mean while it says its out of 2460M.
I have 1gig of ram so I'm pretty sure I have enough memory.

Btw I'm not familor with windows memory aspects to well I just know I need more memory and it appears to stop at 1000M

Is there anyways to fix this? Is there some kind of limiter on commit charge?

What does the Task Monitor say about it?

It may well be the virtual RAM that sends the signal, caused by some software memory "leakage" or something...

Thankyou very much this seems to be what I'm looking for though I have a few questions.

%SystemRoot%\system32\csrss.exe ObjectDirectory=\Windows SharedSection=1024,3072,512 Windows=On SubSystemType=Windows ServerDll=basesrv,1 ServerDll=winsrv:UserServerDllInitialization,3 ServerDll=winsrv:ConServerDllInitialization,2 ProfileControl=Off MaxRequestThreads=16

The first value controls how many "users" can be logged on at once. aka more desktops?

The second value controls how much free memory is availble to active windows?

The third value controls the inactive windows?

It also mentions windows has a 48mb buffer. So im limited to that? How in the sense of editing these values am I limited?

BTW
I am usually running a game that consumes 250k of memory in the background all the time due to this should I increase the inactive memory?

Ermm.. The guide actually explains it all here - http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.a...tno=238&pgno=1

Quote:
The first value is the shared heap size, common to all desktops. It's used to store the global handle table and shared system settings.
By default, it's set to 1024KB. You generally do not need to modify this value.

The second value is the desktop heap size for each desktop associated with the "interactive" window station. It's used to store user objects like hooks, menus, strings and windows.
By default, it's set to 3072KB. The more users log into the system, the more desktops are created. Consequently, the total "interactive" desktop heap size will increase to reflect the number of desktops created. But each desktop will only have an "interactive" desktop heap of 3072KB.

The third value is the desktop heap size for each desktop associated with the "non-interactive" window station.
By default, it's set to 512KB. But if this value is not present, the size of the "non-interactive" window station will be the same as that of the "interactive" window station.
Every service process created under a user account will be given a new desktop in a "non-interactive" window station created by the Service Control Manager (SCM). Therefore, each of these services will consume the amount of desktop heap, as specified in the third SharedSection value.
