Default cannot delete/rename folder on ntfs (xpsp2)

Hi.

I have a weird problem

I cannot delete/ rename folders (but I can delete files from inside the directory )

Tried several ways :
backup data

disk edit

low level format

format ( I have 3 : NTFS partitions)

security (ntfs) settings / administrator full control ...

convertion to fat 32 and back to ntfs

advanced options on NTFS: changed current owner /permissions /inherited ....... blah blah

but I cannot get rid of this problem ; sometimes I can delete some folders , sometimes i cannot .....

all I know is that 3 or 4 months ago I've played with security settings on ntfs , removed recycle bin and other stuff , but I can't figure out what happens now

Can you help ?

Does the folder have very long name? Most common problem.

Or you can try have a look at this long MS kb.

no

for example folders named : downloads , games or kit

could it be data corruption ? (I've checked the disk several times , no problems /f /x .........)

why is everything going well on fat 32 ? no problems there

Those folders worked great 4, 5 months ago , (on ntfs ); something happened ;I can't figure out what

Did you try moving/renaming the folder in safe mode?

!!! finally found the problem !!!

It's a virus
Win32.Fidcop.A / Win32.Saburex.a

http://www.viruslist.com/en/viruses/...virusid=145656

http://www.bitdefender.com/VIRUS-100....Fidcop.A.html

scanned with zone alarm and found it
symantec antivirus did not see it (strange)

I have lost some *.exe files from kit , but it should be allright ; my hard drive is clean now

Now I can rename /delete folders

Err... What folders are they? They could be in use by some application you are using.. or just running in the background.
