Default Is Retrieving Files after format possible??

Hi There,

My bro has formatted my family pc without doing any backup on important documents (digital camera pictures)..my father were so incensed because of his reckless actions because most of the pictures are very memorable..

So i want to know whether the 'formatted' documents is retrievable or not?? If yes, what software should i use to retrieve it..Hope someone can help me Thank You

There's an unformat option, but it doesn't work if you already installed software in the newly formatted partition, or if you repartition the hard drive.

Pretty simple actually, don't write anything to the drive and use something like Ontrack Professional Disk Recovery software and just let the program do its magic and walla, most of the time the data comes back to life safe and sound. Or you could do it the hard way by using DOS, NDD's editing program and edit the delete status in the headers of the files.

I obviously recommend the first option.
