Default OK ,To use win98 alongside XP Home?

If I install win98(not se) on it's own drive alongside XP Home on another separate drive. Are they compatible?
i.e Am I able to transfer files between the two?
P.S.Asking because i remember that Win98 se had alot of changes to the original.

unless you install your XP Home on a FAT32 partition, your Win98 setup will not be able to read that disk.

Afair even then W98 (not SE) won't let you read or write XP-created
FAT32-parts ... you'd have to create all XP parts with
W98/fdisk and install it afterwards.
If I'm not totally mistaken ...

Windows XP Home sucks!!! It is terrible for networking - in fact, it can't even do that!! You can only join a domain only if you use Windows XP Pro!

Why even bother with Win XP Home? Stick with Windows 98 SE!

Would a home user join a domain anyway? Lol

Both Win98 and WinXP sucks at networking. Even XP Pro.

So. it's the same. but Win XP has proven to be far more stable then win 98.... and win98 is no longer supported by MS anyway. so why stick with win98?

uh, Win98 and WinXP don't suck with networking when it is setup properly on both OSes. You guys just don't know how to configure it correctly.

I will agree that WinXP is much more reliable than Win98 and you can use much more hardware & software on XP than in 98.
