Windows Vista which was released about 10 months ago still left out this feature. I understand that updating the folder size all the time may impact performance but why not have that as an option disabled by default but readily available for user? ![]() Hence, this spawns all types of software be it freeware or shareware for the purpose of just checking out the size of folders in Windows. This is useful when you want to find out which folders are taking up all your hard disk space. In Windows, to do this, you'll have to right-click on each folder, go to Properties and wait for the system to scan through all the folders and files within before reporting the size of that particular folder. A waste of time and resources if you ask me. It's especially apparent when the folder is more than 500MB. You can even brew yourself a cup of coffee and when you are back, probably the process is still running. ![]() So, is there something better? Do read on and find out.
