Default playing a game... and watching a movie in dual display makes video pink

hello all,

i have a 7600 gs running in dual view mode... so i can watch videos (connected by svideo) on my tv while browsing on pc.....which works fine.

the only prob is i want to be able to play games too at same time... but when i load a game to the main menu screen... the video picture on tv turns a crazy unviewable neon pinkish like hue, or sometimes bluish.... and if i start a game map up and start playing the video on tv starts flickering real fast, it starts going back and forth from pinkish to normal, like its trying to fix but can't.

if i tab back to desktop it goes normal again. is there a setting or something i'm missing.... only thing i tried was putting the multiple display mode in nvidia 3d settings to single player, but didn't help anything.

is it just that the graphics card can't handle the game and video displaying at same time? I have latest drivers tried all sorts of resolutions and 16 bit color but no change.

thank for help.

welp i just tried with bf2 and it was even worse... the tv video just went black and didn't play at all.... and the game on the pc was kind of funky looking with weird colors.

i'm thinking the pc and card are not powerful enough to handle it... and bf2 is prolly even worse cause it uses too much memory..

any thoughts or ideas?

ok this is funny i can play css on fullscreen and watch nbc.com in full video with no probs.... but abc and fox give me the pink screen as soon as the game loads.

and i mean nbc.com is nice quality they must just use a different format.... but what is it?!! is there some conflict i dont' get it. do most video players use directx? i mean what the heck? i guess the only video i can watch while playing game is nbc haha

i've searched online most peoples video on secondary just goes black like with me and bf2.... css just makes the video pink.... except for nbc.com!! very strange. i mean i really want to watch movies not nbc.com although i do like heroes.

theres gotta be a way, the only people i've come across that did it were using linux.. or people playing real old games like quake 3 arena they said only worked... theres gotta be some conflict with the new games.

man this is bugging me... if only i was like some programming genius i can hack nbc's player and see what the difference is. I mean they also have the nicest quality too with a great full screen on their site. they gonna be my new fav channel now.

WOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!! YA BABY!!!!
i finally got it

heres what i did.....

I installed ace mega codecs pack......it comes with an old classic version of windows media player with cool options.

i went into the play back options and set the output to the vmr9 (renderless)** whatever the hell that means but it worked!!! i can watch movies on my tv while playing a game on monitor now and the tv video doesnt go pink or black when i load the game up!!!

now i can sleep at night.... i got the idea from this dude talking aobut how he does that with WoW but he said it prolly has to do with the codecs he uses for his video... and then i was like ya it has to be codecs. thats it! and i remembered i have ace mega codec pack on cd and i'm like it prolly won't work but i forgot about their wmp player! thank the lord!

its also nice to have if u download movies and sometimes they dont' play this thing will play anything. its free to download online not sure what latest version of ace mega is out now, and i wouldn't install the codecs if u dont' know what they do caues it has messed up some of my games in the past... just do the basic default ones or just get it for the player, has some cool other programs for doing video stuff too which is over my head.

i'll stop spamming the forums now my bad...

Any pink tinted playback always points to a codec problem.
