Default Excel File Cannot Open

Very funny, I received a excel file from my client (Korean). But that Excel file is , most of the time when i double click it, it will crash my Excel. It will ask whether am i allow the Macro or not, but no matter what i choose (Enable or Disable), it will also crash, and prompt to send error report to Microsoft.

I said most of the time, because it sometimes can be open . I'm using Excel2000. I'm sure something is running behind the file, is there anyway to remove the embedded Macro without opening the file?

I attached here is a automated error generated by Microsoft.

Yeah, it's possible that it's corrupt. Try opening it via File > Open then next to the button Open, there a little arrow, click it and choose "Open and Repair". This is on Office 2003, not sure if Office 2000 has this. You might want to give OpenOffice a try also.

You might also want to try what's written under "Fixing Corrupt Files" in this page:
Excel 2000 Problems

You might also want to check if you have installed the Korean font. Even if the file is supposed to be in English, he/she may have accidentally put in a single Korean letter or something like that.

Anyway, thanks all for your kind suggestion. They problem is still there, but I had quickly copy the data out from the worksheet to another New Created file (when i can open that file). So i still can continue my job without open that stupid file again.

I think is that company include some "security" features on their file. They just sent me another file, but totally cannot view what is that. Then, after i request to re-send, they just apologise that they forgot to remove some kind of encryption on it.
