Default Microcontroller Projects!

Hey dudes!

Just curious, I love to do those nifty little Microcontroller thingy where you can program a chip using a computer, and with some C programming too!

Which one should I start? I've seen many examples from google, but in your opinions, which is the best, economical way to start?

Look through and buy the development kits.

Student Learning Kits

Do you know what you want to develop?

Personaly I would say that unless you already have a good grasp of C not to bother getting one of them as they are very annoying to debug (I remember them driving me insane at university)

That said if you realy want to learn embeded development almost any basic board like the ones mikegas has linked are fine, although you might want to look for one that has USB rather then serial.

Well, I already learned C (one semester course in uni) and some C++ (self-learned).

I've seen the Atmel 12F629, is it a begineer's chip as well?
