Default UltimateDefrag v1.72 For Free

A pretty good defragging software is now free. v1 vs v2 isn't too different, I actually prefer v1 for its more serious interface. Be sure to read the help file to better optimize your disk!

Homepage: UltimateDefrag - Powerful Defrag Software And Hard Drive Optimizer - Introduction

Source: Welcome To Disktrix Inc

Quote:
Since UltimateDefrag 2008 has been released, we've made version 1 completely FREE to everyone who wants to defrag with the world's most powerful defrag system - the UltimateDefrag way.

There are no catches, no hidden tricks, no scams. It's completely and legitimately FREE.

We just want you, and as many people as possible, to enjoy the PC performance that only UltimateDefrag gives you.

Of course if you want the latest and most powerful features, you can always purchase UltimateDefrag 2008, but version 1 is still an excellent product and will give you virtually the same end result in terms of system performance.

What we can't offer with this FREE Version 1 is tech support. For tech support you can always consult the tech support pages at this website or find everything you need in the product manual. All tech support requests require a license number and this FREE version does not have a license number and requires no online activation.

Please help us make this free version go viral (that means get to as many users as possible). Forward it to as many friends as you like. Post links in forums for people looking for a free utility to help speed up their system. We figure if enough people get to know our product that we'll sell more of our latest version. So we'll be honest and frank and tell you that this is our motive for doing this.

The download is tiny at only 2.4 Mb. It will take you about 30 seconds to download.

I found a neat guide online as well: Guide on how to configure UltimateDefrag 2008 properly - nsane forums
It's for the new v2 (2008), but don't mind that. The configs are pretty much the same.

Got it today and tried it out, I really like this utility. It gives some good options to be able to set up programs on the HDs that most others don't.

Thanks for the link to it Zenphic

Cheers Rraven

I'm using it as well. So far it seems to be working well. I have no idea if it's really that much better than JKDefrag, a popular freeware, but surely it is on par

I have both atm, and I dont see in JKDefrag the ability to move my high use files that I want to the outer perimeter of the HD. UD gives that ability, which is a very nice function.

Well, time to forget classic defrag Thanks for the update and for the guide. I will compare the performance before and after defrag and post the results here.
