yes, you can run two anti virus, tried it before,
nod32 + kaspersky
nod32 + avira
not much problem, except for slower startup

Well thats very helpful for the everyday user may as well have caught a virus , wonder what would have been worse, continous reboot or virus......

well, so far no issue on it. at least each of them could pick up a virus the other could not

Yes and at the same time you also have twice the chance of picking up a false positive or maybe fugging up the OS like AVG by using two anti-virus software.

And not forgetting that 2 virus scanner will scan the same file twice, slowing down the system even more. I don't understand, are you exposed to so many type of viruses?

If you want it safe, unplug your LAN cable.

unplug LAN cable, modem,
close usb port, cd, dvd, diskette
run windows on live cd,

that should prevent everything

You mean both scanning at the same time??

I know you can install two or even three at the same time but I'm not sure if you can have 2 of them automatically scanning at the same time.
