Default Excel Macro Remove Help

Anyone familiar with Excel Macro/VBA here

I need some help to remove the embeded Macro/VBA code inside a excel file. My client sent me a file with Macro/VBA code built-in. My excel just crash everytime i tried to open the file. Because a windows will pop-up for prompt me wheter to run the macros or not. Whether I choose "enable/disable" the Excel also will crash.

Is there any method to remove the Macros without open the Excel?

Have you tried opening the same file on another PC? Sometimes the excel file could be corrupted.

Looks like the file could be corrupted.

Try opening the excel file using the Open and Repair option.

Cannot also.

I wonder is it caused by the different language of Excel version? Because my client if from Korea.

I manage to open the file using other computer installed with excel 2003. Then to remove the Macros inside. However, the same problem happen when i bring the file back to my office using the Excel2000.

Yup. Just been done with that method.

Anyway, after I used excel2003 to copy all the content into a new sheet. Then the new file can be open in my office stupid old computer.

Just wonder what is the root causes of this problem. Is it due to the language pack installed?

Maybe it's backward compatibility problem. Save as Excel 2000?

I had tried using the same file, open with excel2003 and save in Excel2000 format. The file size growth from 7MB to 160MB. But still cannot open in my office's excel2000.

I have to manually copy the content of every sheet into a new file created in Excel 2003 then can be use.
