Hi, which build are you using?

Does SideShow appear there when you switch to 'classic' view?
What SideShow device are you having?

Thanks

Sorry, but where is classic view? Do you mean by changing the View by to Large/Small Icons?? If yes, then the answer is yes, it appears.

I do not have a SideShow device I'm running Virtual SideShow

Different card readers may LOOK generic, but they may use different controller chips. The key is finding out what controller chip it is using, not the brand of the card reader.

Don't forget, having a branded component doesn't mean the company actually makes it. It is often made by some OEM.

Oh no wonder, apparently I found out the reason.

SideShow only appear when a WORKING driver is installed, and those experts said that the driver for the device, is not really working, eventhough driver from Vista is supposed to work properly on 7, seems like this is an isolated case.

The experts also said that one of the reason Windows 7 is also known as Windows 6.1 is so that old drivers on Vista (windows 6.0) would work on 7.

Windows 7 is supposed to be based on a new driver model...

No idea, perhaps that's the case, but drivers which work on Vista are supposed to work on 7 without any problem

Yeah, I guess that should be the case, although everyone will want to move to the new WDDM 1.1 drivers for Windows 7 for the benefits - http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.a...tno=637&pgno=1
