im having trouble fixing this pc im working on, the bios is older than the hills, I am needing to have a CD start at startup, it gives an option F9 to choose booting order or soemthign like that.. only thing that works is F1 to start the system I ran CPU-Z and under mainboard, the MANUFARTURER is not present.. just GRAYED OUT, the model is p4m800ce-8237 southbridge via vt8237 lpcia ITE IT8705 BIOS- Phoenix Technologies LTD version - 6.00 PG date - 12/22/2005 I have read there are updates up to at least 2008 If anyone could PLEASE point me in the right direction of where to get the bios update I would highly appreciate it.. I tried to look on the phoenix tech website.. couldnt find anything.. thank you in advance
No, p4m800ce is the chipset model. It's a VIA chipset. tre2010, you have to open up the chassis. Usually, the motherboard will have a brand and a model printed on it. You need that information to find the appropriate BIOS upgrade.
