im having trouble fixing this pc im working on, the bios is older than the hills, I am needing to have a CD start at startup, it gives an option F9 to choose booting order or soemthign like that.. only thing that works is F1 to start the system

I ran CPU-Z and under mainboard, the MANUFARTURER is not present.. just GRAYED OUT,
    the model is p4m800ce-8237
    southbridge via vt8237
    lpcia ITE IT8705

    BIOS-
    Phoenix Technologies LTD
    version - 6.00 PG

I have read there are updates up to at least 2008

If anyone could PLEASE point me in the right direction of where to get the bios update I would highly appreciate it.. I tried to look on the phoenix tech website.. couldnt find anything..

    thank you in advance

Should be Asus judging from the model name.

No, p4m800ce is the chipset model. It's a VIA chipset.

tre2010, you have to open up the chassis. Usually, the motherboard will have a brand and a model printed on it. You need that information to find the appropriate BIOS upgrade.
