After an eternity on our current server, we are moving to a brand new server! On top of that, we will be revamping Tech ARP completely.

Thanks to Ken and Chai, this is what's already done, and what's in the pipeline :

    1. Migrate the Tech ARP Forums to the new server -> DONE!

    2. Switch from vBulletin to xenForo -> DONE!

This is what the new Tech ARP Forums look like now :

    3. Configure the new forums -> In Progress

    4. Beautify the new forums -> In Progress (any graphics artist who can help out, please let us know!)

    5. Setup and configure the new Tech ARP -> In Progress. You can actually view the work in progress at Tech ARP - Where the best in technology gather.

    6. Beautify the new Tech ARP -> In Progress (any graphics artist who can help out, please let us know!)

    7. Migrate some of the articles to the new Tech ARP -> To be done.

    8. Create an archive of all current and past Tech ARP articles and reviews -> DONE! You can check it out at Tech ARP - Where The Best In Technology Gather. This will remain forever as our archive of the old Tech ARP, and best of all - the old links should work too!

About time that you guys are transitioning to a newer system.. LOL.
I see that you're using wordpress as content management? ;)

Cool! The "forgot password" works. Just tested. Old password didn't work. Lol!

Yea, I think it's about time that we move to something established. The old Vbulletin is so outdated that it is only a matter of time the forum gets hacked. vbSEO was also vulnerable to attacks too. xenForo is made by the same developers that did the old Vbulletin v3 back in the days, so the migration was very easy, and most data were retained.

As for the WP, I guess the choice is quite straight forward. Still the most established CMS by far. Any vulnerabilities can be patched easily.

I'm not sure which is which, either it's my Celcom 4G or this new forum is really fast!

Maybe the server is fast, maybe it's because of the lack of ads now. :haha:

I think it's important to optimize the speed by carefully selecting ads...

Do you guys prefer the old post count ranking system or the new trophy system?

Most importantly, it's now running on a linux server!

Kind of suspected that since wordpress or php in generals typically runs better on linux servers ;)

Yeah, it's running on WP. This will allow us to open Tech ARP to more people to contribute.

Ah... It really is refreshing to see the change. All lively now. Well, seems like most people prefer WP as the "platform" to use these days.

Well, we need a CMS like Wordpress to allow more people to contribute. :D
