Default Upgrading woes, need some opinions + advises

Okay my current rig is:
Barton 2600+ @ 3600+ 200x12
2 x 512 DT-D43
5900XT @ 5900 Ultra.

My card can't really handle today's games already, obviously, maybe just barely at the lowest settings and I'd like to upgrage that but. Is it a better idea if i were to change my whole system to a 939 + a decent PCIe card, or do you think that my barton is still okay and i'm better off with a better AGP card?

Thanks in advance

Ya that's the main problem, the cash. I have calculated that i can easily get myself a venice 3200+ 939, DFI Ultra-D and a 6800GS but, i dont feel like spending that much.

Ok lets just say that i have enough for only a decent graphics card (AGP), should i get it or wait for more cash and change the whole thing? Is my barton running at 3600+ really that obsolete already? lol

Until you let me know how much you are going to spend, it's impossible to answer you this question. Whether you want to spend so much or not depends on you.

Hehe okay. Well i said i could have bought myself a 939 CPU, a descent mobo and graphics card which means that i have roughly RM2000 to spend. But the problem is that i don't quite feel like spending that much. Just wanna know whether if it's appropriate for me to:

1. Get a whole new 939 + PCIe system, or
2. Just get a good AGP card and bare with my barton for a little while longer.

If you want to get an AGP card now, your choice is limited to 6800 GS (assuming they have AGP version). But your system won't last very long, 1 year max IMO.

I say, make some effort, be patient and buy yourself a new system.

I'm kinda in the same situation. I''m currently having a barton 2500+@3200+(210x11) on EPOX 8RDA3+ and a XFX 6600GT AGP Video Card.
I'm saving as well to buy a nice Venice 3200+ or an Opteron 146 CPU (known as a very good overclocker) with DFI NF4 Ultra-D motherboard along with (at least) 6800GT PCI-E.
I think I'll upgrade in about one year from now.

If you can bare you PC as it is, wait few months. In the meantime, you can find a second hand 6600GT AGP for a around US$100.

That's a pretty neat idea. Ya i guess i'll just get a, say a 6800GS and use it for a year or so.

Thanks for your opinions chai and zachig
