Default What would you recommend?

lets start off with a laugh , im still using geforce 4 TI now , year 2007, if you think its not funny then thank you , if you do then i suck, now i FINALLY think its time for me to get a new one , dont need it too good or too bad , just good enough to keep up with most of the games , preferably nvidia , we can talk about budget later, so which would you all recommend?

Thanks!
p:s / operating system winxp, p4 2.8ghz 1gb ram

The 7300GT DDR2 for AGP is still there too - The XFX series. Or you can directly get the 7600GS, but it's a little bit too expensive - RM100 more than the ordinary PCI-E. The X1600Pro is a good buy too, provided you can find that video card in AGP.

I would recommend a platform upgrade. Especially if you game...

Yeah, with the way AGP cards are selling nowadays. It seems more "economical" to just upgrade altogether.

Hmm.. Honestly, I think you should just upgrade to a new platform. A nice Core 2 Duo system should not set you back more than RM 4K.

If you want, you can take a look at our Christmas Buying Guide - http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.a...tno=368&pgno=0. Of course, you don't need to get an SLI system.

You can always go for cheaper solutions like an Intel P965 motherboard, an Intel Core 2 Duo E4300, and a cheap mid-range graphics card like the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT. Go for more RAM if you can afford it.

As Adrian recommends, the best rock-solid Core system will be consisting of a Asus P5B, Core 2 Duo E4300, and a 7600GS/GT.
