It is better, but not blindingly so. Game plays ok, but lacks the real pace to justify the atmosphere it is trying to create.

Interesting point about DX10, was not aware it was about. Is there real evidence to say Vista is that much of a hinderance to older games? I don't mean that in a challenging way. It's just I'm getting back to computing having taken a break since the P4, so am not up to pace with Vista, PCI Express etc.

One other thing, though. if you look at that the GCard - i.e. a low middle range OEM, would it be worth trying to play any of the up to date games that possibly demand more grunt from the GPU??
DX10 is probably Vista's biggest selling point. Microsoft will not add DX10 support to Windows XP. So, if you want to play DX10 games, you will have to upgrade to Windows Vista.

However, for DX9 games, Windows XP is still the better operating system. Graphics drivers are definitely more mature, and will be faster and more stable with DX9 games. Vista isn't bad, but the drivers are not up to the level that XP drivers are.

Hmm.. Well, if you ask me, the 7500 LE will not be powerful enough to play the newer DX9 games, not with full eye candy and high resolution. But you should be able to play them if you reduce the resolution and the quality of visual effects.
