Default Radeon X1550 Problems HELP!!!

I just bought the Radeon X1500 256mb Video Card.. "What a piece of crap that was" and i installed it, played games, wasn't impressed, so i uninstalled the drivers shutdown took the card out and now when i boot back up it only gets to the windows XP screen and then just hangs there.. it never loads my desktop... any ideas on why this is.. i tried booting in safe mode and that doesn't work either

Did you replace it with another graphics card? If not perhaps you could try going into the bios and changing the primary graphics adapter to ouput via the motherboard?

The only other thing I can think of is to reset the bios and see if that helps. But then again, if it's locking up once it gets to the windows loading screen I would say it's more likely to be a windows issue.

Did you try inserting your x1500 again and see if that helped?

Hmm.. Sounds like the driver didn't uninstall properly. Try booting up in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during boot-up (before the Windows screen appears) and select the Save Mode option.

Then when you load up in Windows XP Safe Mode, uninstall the graphics card and its driver. Then reboot to detect the new card.

Yeah that might be the problem, but he said he can't boot into safe mode.

Oh crap.. Missed that.

To emeighde@hotmail. : Hmm.. Are you using a motherboard with an integrated graphics chip? If so, check the BIOS and see if it's enabled.

thx too all of the advice on the problem and i tried all of the suggestions you have given me... i couldn't figure it out so i ended up going with a partial system format because i had an on board recovery system drive on my computer. that ended up fixing the problem.. I'm still a little confused as to why it happened but all i know is i wont be buying anymore PCI or Radeon cards anymore.. i picked up a Geforce 7300 AGP instead and i am pleased with its performance. i have another question too if anyone is still on this topic... i installed my copy of ghost reacon advance war fighter and with my new nvidia card it wont let me play the game for some reason... i have all the requirements but when i load the game it the graphics are all screwed up its almost like a clipping mode i cant see anything just wireframe.. lemmme know if you have any suggestions on that topic.. thx in advance
