Oh, never mind. I've decided to get the Galaxy 8600GT that Goldfries recommend. That'll be quite nice, but not too far behind the X1950Pro I've seen through benchmarks.

Nice =D I would like to compare how it stacks up to the x1950pro. Do you have 3dmark? We can do a comparison once my 1950 arrives (sigh), your PC specs are similar to mine.

At least you are using PCI-e, I'm still stuck with AGP, so that kind of limits my choice.

I've seen a review site about how 8500GT stacked up - the results are a little bit stronger (10%) than the overclocked version of 7300GT (ddr3).

Don't worry with the AGP - I heard that the 2600XT and 2900XT are going towards AGP segment as well - they have to stick a AGP-PCI bridge for these to function.

On top of that, the some reviews said that the 8600GT is almost close to 7900GS, or surpasses (a wee bit) of X1950GT. Meanwhile, another review said that it is only 20% faster than 7600GT in overall. This card has all kinds of mixed reviews, first time I ever heard of all these!

I thought of choosing the X1950, but since I like Galaxy and its solid caps, and also factory overclocked.

Hehe.. IMHO, if you want an 8-series card, get an 8800 GTS (320MB)!!!

But once you make up your mind, don't listen to us. Be happy with what you purchased.

Ooh, I have considered, thinked, thunked, tanked.

Got myself a MSI X1950PRO from one of the LowYat stores. Now test running it - hope it is a great gamer. But, I'm not really really familiar with the strange ATi control panel - my First ATi card was those of 9200 only.

I tried Medal of Honor:Airborne and the graphics are all set to maximum, and even recommended maximum!

Strangely, my processor can even overheat. A session of playing for at least 1h restarts my comp, and saw my CPU temp which is 61 degrees. Sheesh - I hope it's just a coincidence!!
