Default driver troubles... will swapping bios help?

dont ask...
so i have sapphire 9600 pro atlantis and the sapphire or ati drivers wont work for some reason
so i was wondering if i swap/flash my bios with the one from the same model by some other manufacturer(aka gecube or club or powercolor) are the driversgoing to work?
ive heard that its possible somewhere....
will the drivers work if i manage to do this?

I wouldn't suggest that kind of a BIOS swap and I don't think the BIOS is your issue.

This is an AGP card what chipset and Cat versions are you running ?

All ATI drivers should work fine on your Sapphire.

VIA chipsets and ATI AGP cards have had known issues for years .... EVIL_SoMEoNE what chipset are you running this might help eliminate some possibilities and solve your issues. On drivers themselves there were also issues with the Cat 7.9 and Cat 7.10 those are also known issues with AGP cards.

I have first hand experience with VIA KT800 chipsets running with 9800 Pro in the past and there was no issue, which I presume that's what he's using as well.

Well lets not presume lets have him post what Chipset and Cat driver version he is using so we can try and troubleshoot his issue for him

Not sure perhaps he should specify in the original post .. just speculating on general problems with AGP, Cats and VIA chipsets.

Do you have more information than posted on this thread ? There is no indication of any action he has done he was asking about updating the BIOS not indicating he had already to try to do so ... or am I missing something ?
