Default Trouble adding new graphics card to replace integrated card

I have a Dell Inspirion Desktop computer with an AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 5600+
CPU Speed 2800Hz
x2 1024k RAM
Vista Basic

The initial Dell screen where BIOS is entered states BIOS version 1.0.7

It has a 6150 NVida integrated card and I have purchased a HIS Graphics accelerator to connect my comp to my monitor through VGA and to my LCD through DVI.

I have fitted the card and when I come to install the CD it states "Failed to find any installable components!" with a Whit cross in a red circle next to it. My brother has said I need to change something in the BIOS but I am unsure of the next step and so is he.

I think the following thing needs to be changed but am not at all sure

"PnP/PCI Configurations"

Under "Init Display First" (the only option under the above menue) it is currently set to PCI. The other options are Onboard and PCI-E.

The graphics card has been put into the availible PCI-E slot and I think it is installed properly as
1) I wore an anti static band
2) I have checked and there doesnt appear to be a seperate power lead needed.

Please help and my thanks in advance

Is there an option to disable onboard graphics?

usually the system will switch to graphic card upon detection.

set the "Init Display First" to "PCI-E"

Monitor should adjust just set onboard graphics - off in BIOS. (On a Dell system this may be in your Legacy settings)

On reseting BIOS defaults should be a function key like F10 if you need too.

Set PCIE as primary as mentioned and hope this helps
