Question Quadro Fx 1700

Hi everybody....eventually sorry for my english!
I'm here to ask information about that >>
I have an hp workstation xw6200 with 2x3.4Ghz Xeon processors,2gb ram and actually a 7800 gt graphic card.
Now i want to upgrade something.
i'm thinking on a quadro fx1700.
I use maya 3d software for modeling animation and rendering and sometimes i have scenes with "some" polygons more than usual.
Now i want to know if made a good business buying this quadro card or it's better that i remain with my 7800gt card waiting for something else.
In specific i want to know if i'll see a significant performance improvements in 3d application.
I hope to be clear.
Thanks in advance for answer a suggestions.

Well, based on my limited knowledge, a Quadro FX 1700 would certainly help in Maya 3D. Not in the actual rendering process, but in the viewport display.

If you are looking to speed up the rendering of the final image, you need a faster CPU. The Quadrop FX 1700 can only help in speeding up the viewport display.
