Default 1280x800 on Radeon 9600XT?

...bit of an older box here trying to get set up with a 17" widescreen LCD that was cheap...

The LCD wants 1280x800 resolution, but with the latest Calayst drivers, the 9600XT doesn't give that option...1280x768 more or less works, but it's a bit fuzzy.

Anyone have any idea how to get teh 9600XT to do 1280x800?

<edit>

...OK, nevermind...apparently the monitor will do 1440x900 as well. Still, seems a bit odd that I couldn't get 1280x800...

It will still look fuzzy regardless, since 1280x800 is still not the native resolution of your LCD, which is 1440x900.

If you want to add custom resolution, give PowerStrip a try.
