Reputation: 0 ![]() Rep Power: 0 | I've recently bought a Sapphire HD 3870 512MB GDDR4. I 've installed it , then i 've turned on the pc and the motherboard makes 4 BIP , a long beep followed by three short bep ( the "signal" for video card not found ?), the system continues to work, but nothing in the monitor appears. I 've an ASUS M2N as motherboard and as PSU a Tagan TG700-U33 . I've tried another graphic card and it's work correctly. Then : 1) ASUS M2N doesn't recognize the pciexpress 2.0 even if i've read that pcie 2.0 is backward compatibile 2) The PSU doesn't give much power to the card(I don't think it's a good PSU). 3)The hd3870 is broken In very rare case , the hd3870 works , but while booting , the fan of the graphic card stops, so i 've removed and re-inserrted the pciexpress alimentation plug and the fans restart. Best regards, Pietro PS: sorry for my english |

PCI Express 2.0 is backwards compatible. I think you mentioned you PCI-E power connection was connected properly. Make sure your default video is PEG in BIOS. Other than that sounds like you may have a defective card ![]()
