Reputation: 22 ![]() Rep Power: 5 | Hey guys.. did you miss me ??????? i havent been to this forum in 2 years... I have a Geforce 7800GTX.. right up until last week i was seeing small red dots here and there when looking at a picture ( especially when theres something very dark or blackish). it has been increasing week by week now. and sometimes they show up green instead of red.. now when i play games this does NOT happen at all.. ive tried to look for them but nothing.. only when viewing apicture andf Watching a movie this happens... is my graphics card dying? or is it something i could fix? the card is stock and has been running without problems for about 8 months...

Reputation: 22 ![]() Rep Power: 5 | also drivers are all up to date, what i am thinking is that its an overheating problem since it has actually started getting hotter here.. so i will check that shit out and disassemble the card and clean it out and put new thermal paste...

Reputation: 48 ![]() Rep Power: 4 | are you using DVI for your monitor connection? sometimes a faulty DVI cable will cause red dots. If you are using DVI, try replug the cable and if that still doesnt helps, try using back an analog cable and see if the problem goes away ![]()
