Well, if ya wanna play patty-cakes with a VIP, go ahead.

Me, I say go after 'em. When you sit down with an executive, try to actually find things out. Be assertive and investigative. You gotta be like Murphy Brown, not Miles Silverburg.

So you ask things like:

"Do you feel like Nvidia is firing on all cylinders? Is there any indication that ATI is making a move you aren't prepared to counter? Is there anything in the recent past where now you look at it and think, 'we should have done that better?'"

Any questions are welcome and I have no intentions of playing patty-cakes with Derek and I didn't 5 years ago when I did this either. I have my own questions I will be adding before the interview as well. Assertive and investigative are good but you must also have a professional approach with diplomacy or they will just brush you off.

Thanks for the excellent questions Motoman and the others tomorrow I will be organizing them

Exactly. I see too many people go up to a VIP and say something like "man, you guys really screwed the pooch on <x>, didn't ya?" instead of "I was wondering what your take is on how your company managed <x> now that it can be reviewed in hindsight?"

Hence my Murphy Brown reference. Maybe you didn't watch that show, or that episode, but there was this great episode where the regular reporters were on strike, and Miles was trying to conduct a "hard-hitting" interview with a VIP. Classicly lacking tact...

Hee hee yes I did see that episode and know where you are coming from man. You have to know how to approach people and read them. Everyone is different and doing what I do you have to adjust to that .. make sense ?

BTW when I conduct this I will be naming the ARP members that submitted the questions I ask

...all 3 of us? XD

"What is Nvidia's impression of the TechARP logo? Does it or does it not bear a striking resemblence to 2 eggs in a skillet? Mmmmm...eggs."

"Speaking of eggs, it has been demonstrated that both Intel and AMD chips can be used to cook eggs. This has not yet been demonstrated on Nvidia products, though. Do you feel that Nvidia is at a poultry-product deficit compared to your rivals? Is there anything you intend to do about this...or are you just going to chicken out?"

Oh, my. I kid, naturally. But seriously...it's eggs, right?
