Nvidia's GeForce 9600 GT graphics processor - The Tech Report - Page 9 9600GT - 197W 9800GTX - 247W 9800GTX only consumes around ~50W more than a 9600GT under load, I really don't understand how it can be "very inefficient", considering 9800GTX is much faster than a 9600GT ![]()

THX for the links and did some reading myself on the new 55nM G92 and like what I saw. I would still like to see some temps and other numbers on 4850 and 4870 I was really disappointed in the 38xx series but these are looking good so far

Only 8800GT, 8800GTS 512MB, and 9800GTX uses G92 core. This is why G92 is a lot better than G80, in terms of power consumption. There's only 2 types of 9800 series, 9800GX2 (which is dual G92 so power consumption will be roughly 2x higher), and 9800GTX. There has never been an inefficient G92 core, except the new 55nm G92, which I think is crap. Last edited by Chai : 26th Jun 2008 at 08:06 AM. |

On G92 thats cool on the 8800GTX I saw issues with heat on Crysis O/Cing here on ARP. I have still out benched 8800GTS and GT on better systems than mine. Anyhew will run some benchmarks tonight and post em up ![]()
