thank god it's a stick and i manage to inform the distro before they start sending it out ..thank god they sold like few units lol...

Folks said the same thing when the ATI 9800 Pro was available in 128MB and 256MB and the same arguement was made that the extra RAM wouldn't be utilised. Well, some people might use it. Powercolor didn't just pull this idea out of a hat.

This is not like system RAM, like you can just use extra RAM running Photoshop. You need to run at extreme high quality settings at high resolution.

You can always read 4870 512MB vs 4870 1GB reviews. And that's just with 1GB RAM, and it's a 4870, not 4850.
