Reputation: 111 ![]() ![]() Rep Power: 2 | first what a bullshit from powercolor they are puting 512DDR5 on cards and call it as 2Gb models of DDR3 LOL and seling it for much higher price (~250$ usd) and card dont even have higher resoults in fact it haves lower performance than regular 4850 512ddr3 (180$ usd) what a load of crap if you ask me check it out : Radeon HD 4850 2 GB GDDR3 review

All 4850 (reference card) comes with GDDR3, while 4870 comes with GDDR5. As for the reason why 2GB is slower than 512MB, answer is simple. The RAM clockspeed is actually slower, and most games will not benefit from the additional RAM buffer. |
