For the time being i am planning to upgrade my current HD3850.
Hope you guys will tell me which is better of the shortlisted.
Need it for playing crysis in its full glory.

hmm,lets see...4870 has my pick..how much budget do u allocated for your new gpu?for the price of GTX280, you can either pick a 4870 single card, 2x4870 or a single 4870X2...all depends on your budget though..and also your system specification

i would recommend HD4870, however you didnt mention what motherboard you using since im not sure if you are using sli or crossfire (p35 etc). well of course you should take Nvidia card if you are using sli or planning to get free physX game and future support title.

Right now I'm not so sure anymore, even GTX280 has gotten so much cheaper, at least here

~RM900 (4870 512) vs ~RM1300 (GTX280 1GB)

HD4870 is the card. Even HD4850 did OK too, but I'm pretty sure you need to lower down the AA for optimal performance.

GTX280 is not a bad choice too, considering the price has dropped so much. The cheapest GTX280 is around RM1300+ here, not sure about the pricing in other places though.

I would still go for the 4870 because of its lower power requirements. Even though the GTX 280 comes with an 8-pin adaptor, it's really messy to use.

If you'll get an 4870 I recommend this one: Palit Radeon HD 4870 Sonic Dual Edition review Comes with a nice heatsink, is factory overclocked & also has DisplayPort if you will ever use it.. lol

gainward not bad too..the GS series 4870, highly overclockable

and comes with the same heatsink like palit (both are own by the same company) ooh, comes with dual bios too

..normal and turbo mode
