Thinking about it, DX11 is already announced to be included with Win 7, and though I have a DX10 card, I have not played a single DX10 game lol

Hehehe.. That's the thing. Many people will now be anxious about DirectX 11 - they will want their next card to support DirectX 11 even if there won't be a DirectX 11 game for a long time to come.

Same thing with SLI and CrossFire. So many people worry about it when the truth is 99% will end up using just a single graphics card.

At least you don't have to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 for DirectX 11

i wouldn't bother getting 9800GT. 9600GT still gives better value in my book.

Thanks all- I ended up finding a 9600GT for $110 at the local Best Buy and just grabbed it so I wouldn't have to wait for shipping. Also went ahead and got a Antec power supply just for the hell of it- I remember from about 3 years ago when I built a couple systems that Antec was a good brand and figured I couldn't go wrong with it.

thanks for all the suggestions- originally I wouldn't have considered a 9600 because I figured it would hit a bottleneck with this system- perhaps it is, but I'm happy and my normal game, WoW- I have cranked up on max and hit about 35fps and 20ish at the worst. 40-50fps with a few of the things turned down to midlevel.

The GeForce 9600 GT is a good choice. It offers a lot of bang for your buck. For certain, it's MUCH better than the GeForce 8600 GT/GTS you were considering.
